Online Gambling In New Jersey
Online gambling laws are slowly and steadily making their way to becoming a reality all over the United States. Barney Frank has been leading the movement in the Congress and has been trying hard to create unified online gambling laws across the United States. The process has seen a fair share of ups and downs. But in the past year individual states are coming forward and trying to work towards the expansion of online gambling. States like California, New Jersey and Florida are fortunate enough to have legislators who are taking efforts to shed light on the positive attributes of legalized online gambling and they are also working hard to convince other lawmakers of how beneficial internet gambling regulations could be to the state.
Things are looking up in New Jersey when the New Jersey Senators met last week to discuss the future of online gambling in the state. The Senators have made a head start by passing two bills that will assist in the progress of the racing industry in New Jersey. The next activity on the list looks like a voting session on internet gambling, online poker in particular.
The force behind these proceedings is Senator Ray Lesniak. According to Lesniak’s plan the state of New Jersey will authorize casinos to offer online services to their customers. This plan would not only be beneficial to the state but to the residents of New Jersey too. Residents would not have to bear expenses on gas, food, beverages and other expenses that are part of visiting a land based casino. But casinos could still benefit from the additional income that is generated from their online gambling services. The State will receive a portion of those earnings in tax revenue.
